The first one is not measuring the results from marketing to determine the effectiveness of the marketing activities.

The second one is failure to do the research about any potential marketing firm. Ask for names of clients and then call those clients to confirm any testimonials and results.

The third one is not uniting marketing activities with selling activities are both are part of the sales process.

The other ones you have listed are also great, not sure if they are in order priority as the fourth one would be to have a written marketing action plan otherwise you are playing Captain Wing It.

Additionally, effective sales is all about value. Speaking about benefits is truly product based or sales based marketing and not education based marketing which is the path of the 21st Century.
