Spring Startups

As winter weather gives way to spring, it's time to start your irrigation system for the upcoming season. During the start-up, we will carefully inspect and adjust the entire system to ensure optimal performance. This includes checking the controller, backflow preventer, exposed piping, and valves; gradually filling the irrigation mainlines; and testing each zone for proper valve and sprinkler function. We'll inspect water pressure, rotation, sprinkler/drip line adjustments, and coverage, while also reprogramming the controller and replacing the back-up battery. Additionally, we’ll check for leaks, assess any necessary adjustments due to plant growth, and test the backflow preventer. Any necessary repairs or adjustments will be made to ensure the system operates smoothly throughout the season.

Seasonal Maintenance & Repair

As we enter the summer months, it’s essential to inspect your irrigation system to ensure it’s operating efficiently and providing adequate coverage for your lawn. During this process, we will inspect key components such as the controller, backflow preventer, exposed piping, and valves. We'll assess turf health for signs of over- or under-watering, check and adjust irrigation schedules, test each controller station for leaks, pressure, and coverage, and make any necessary repairs or adjustments. Seasonal run-times will also be fine-tuned, and the backflow preventer will be checked for proper functionality to maintain overall system performance.

Winterization

As winter approaches, it’s crucial to winterize your irrigation system to prevent damage from freezing temperatures. During the winterization process, we will inspect the controller, backflow preventer, piping, and valves; shut off the irrigation supply line valve; and manually drain lines at low points. We will then connect a compressor to the system, forcing air through each zone to expel any remaining water until the pipes are completely clear. After disconnecting the compressor, we will relieve trapped water in the backflow preventer and open its test cocks. Finally, the irrigation controller will be turned to the "OFF" position to ensure the system is properly winterized and protected from freezing.

Back Flow Preventer Service

Back flow preventer service and testing is not only important but could also be required by your local municipality and/or state. Back flow preventers are designed to prevent drinking water from potential contamination. Our certified back flow preventer technician can test and service your back flow preventer to ensure your back flow assembly is properly working and certified. Our certified technician must perform the test and will submit the results to your local officials.
