OUR MISSION

Hobart Township Trustees office is responsible for providing basic supporting needs to the township residents who find themselves in need of temporary assistance. Our goal is to improve the community in which we serve.

Hobart Township Parks & Recreation’s goal is focused on the revitalization of Rosser Park, which serves our community and enriches the lives of all who visit. Our outdoor green spaces, sandy beach and beautiful lake for fishing are all available for healthy recreation, stimulating community pride and instilling values of natural preservation and a healthier, greener living for all.

MEET FRED WILLIAMS

HOBART TOWNSHIP TRUSTEE

Fred Williams is a dedicated public servant with a rich and diverse background in community leadership, public safety, and civic engagement. His extensive experience and commitment to his community have made him a respected figure in Hobart Township and beyond.

Early Life and Education

Fred Williams is a proud graduate of River Forest High School, where he laid the foundation for his future endeavors. His educational journey instilled in him the values of hard work, dedication, and community involvement, which would become the cornerstones of his life.

Law Enforcement Career

Fred’s commitment to public service began with a career in law enforcement that spanned more than two decades. He served as a police officer in New Chicago, Lake Station, and Hobart, ensuring the safety and well-being of his fellow residents. His dedication to protecting and serving his community earned him the trust and respect of his colleagues and the residents he served.

Community Leadership

Fred’s passion for community improvement and public service extended beyond his law enforcement career. He served as the Parks Director of Hobart Township, where he played a pivotal role in enhancing recreational opportunities for residents. Additionally, he dedicated seven years of his life as a City Council member in Lake Station, working to address the needs and concerns of his constituents.
Fred’s commitment to community development led him to serve on both Lake Station’s Redevelopment Board and the Hearing Board Authority.

Family and Personal Life

Fred Williams values family above all else. He is a loving husband and proud father of four children and a proud grandfather. His dedication to family values and his desire to create a better future for his children and grandchildren are central to his motivation to serve his community.

Civic Engagement

Fred Williams continues to be actively involved in various community organizations. He is a proud member of the Kiwanis and Lions Clubs, where he collaborates with fellow community members to make a positive impact on the lives of those in need. Additionally, Fred is involved with Friends in Gratitude Helping Together (FIGHT) organization that works to beautify Lake Station and help those in need.

Current Role

Currently, Fred Williams serves as the Hobart Township Trustee, a position that allows him to further his dedication to the welfare of his community. In this role, he continues to work tirelessly to address the needs and concerns of Hobart Township residents, ensuring that their voices are heard, and their interests are represented.
